A simple game about autonomous cells that gather resources. The resources are used to "evolve" the cells by boosting their stats or generating more cells.  I added a timer because I thought it might be interesting to see how fast people can max out the resource counter, which I think adds an interesting layer to what skills to upgrade and in what order. The scaling is a bit of a mess, I fiddled with it for a couple days, but ultimately think it's in a place that I'd consider just "okay".

Made for the PIGSquad Summer Slow Jam: Idle.

Theme (Idle & Mutation): My thought for this project was to make a game like cookie clicker wherein the game mostly played itself however the original concept had the player mutating the cells into new families with special traits. Ultimately I didn't have the time or resources to come up with enough unique traits, but the core concept of the "traits" is there in the form of the power, speed, and carry capacity. The game still plays itself but the balance lends it to going much faster than one would think of as "idle".


I originally had bigger ideas for what I wanted this game to be, but because I opted to work on this alone I ended up axing a lot of features for time. Ultimately it was a good exercise in avoiding over-scoping the project.
